<Trust the Plan>

Not the method being used. Not the end results you’re hoping for. Not your current situation. Not your own ability. The creator and architect of the plan itself.

Why do we strive to be God, when He created us to simply be ourselves? We desire to know the end from the beginning. We want to know the next 12 steps before taking one. We want to be in control so bad. But, where’s the faith in that?!

I believe God puts us in positions that force us to rely on Him, because the safest place we can ever be - is in a position of faith and obedience. His word says in Hebrews “without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6). So why do we try to make decisions that don’t align with His standard? Faith allows you to see in your mind what you can’t see with your eyes. We must choose to trust Him, without knowing the outcome.

The Lord wants us to dream, use our imagination, and have hope - but more importantly He wants us to trust Him. Our minds are so minute compared to His.

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9 NLT

The wisest thing we can do is trust Him, prepare for what we’re praying for, and give Him room to work. Give God space to do whatever He wants to do in your life. Many times, I’ve been upset because my expectation of how I thought God was going to bless me ended up being different than what I experienced - but that’s not something I should be upset about. It’s something I should embrace. If what I’m believing for is in line with God’s will, it will come to pass. And if God wants to do something different, to bring me an even better result - then that’s what will reign supreme.

God isn’t moved by our attitude or disappointment; He’s moved by our faith. And He doesn’t have to consult you when He decides what He wants to do in your life or through you.

It doesn’t matter if you’re an introvert and God calls you to speak - guess what? You’re still going to have to speak. But what I love about God is He equips you with the grace, gifts, and resources you need to fulfill your calling. You simply must trust and obey. He’s the One who knows the end from the beginning, and He knows what’s waiting for you on the other side of your obedience. Trusting is hard, because we want to be in control. But we weren’t designed to create our own purpose, that’s God’s job. Our job is to follow His lead.

The more time you spend with Him, the clearer His voice will become, guiding you to where He wants to lead you.

Take heart that:

  • the plans He has for you are for your good (Romans 8:28),

  • He doesn’t withhold anything good from those who live with integrity (Psalm 84:11),

  • His plans are to prosper you and not to harm you (Jeremiah 29:11),

  • He’ll give you peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7),

  • And you won’t have to walk alone - He’ll be there with you every step of the way (Deuteronomy 31:6, Isaiah 41:10).

Your job is to trust. His job is to lead.

Life really does get better when we do our job of trusting Him and obeying the last thing He told us to do. This allows God to lead us to the life He predestined before the beginning of time itself.

You can do it! I’m rooting for you. God is rooting for you. Surrender to a place of trust and obedience. Let Him lead. God will take care of the rest.
